Kansas City police say the woman who was shot and killed while trying to run over officers with a sport utility vehicle Tuesday night is 19-year-old Jessica D. Jones.

Police say the SUV driven by Jones was stolen from Overland Park, Kansas.

Police say their investigation is continuing.

Kansas City police shot and killed woman who allegedly tried to run over police officers with a sport utility vehicle, police say.

According to police, officers were near Truman and Indiana around 10:22 p.m. when the SUV driven by Jones nearly struck their police vehicle. The officers pursued the SUV, but Jones allegedly wouldn't stop. Officers followed the SUV to 31st and Terrace, where Jones turned south on Terrace from 31st Street and stopped at a dead end. The officers exited their vehicles and Jones allegedly turned her SUV around and drove at the officers. The officers shot and killed Jones.

The four officers were not injured. They are being placed on administrative leave, which is common following a police shooting.
