Three people are dead after a Sunday morning car crash in Finney County. The accident happened just before 7 a.m. on U50 bypass at Spruce Junction five miles southeast from U50 and U83.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, George C. Fira, 31, of Pratt was driving westbound on Spruce when he went through a red light at the intersection hitting a semi-truck that was pulling a 2008 MAC Trailer.

Fira's 1986 Mercury Topaz went under the semi's trailer and caught fire.

The semi was driven by 51-year-old Stanley L. Kessler who was not injured in the crash.

Fira and his two passengers were killed in the crash. Fira, of Pratt, twenty-seven year-old Armando Rincones, Jr. of Garden City and 23-year-old Angel L. Rodriguez, of Garden City were all pronounced dead at St. Catherines Hospital in Garden City.
