Fayetteville police have arrested a man they say hit and killed a pedestrian last month.

Robert E. Lee Ehrhardt, 21, of Fayetteville was arrested Saturday in connection with leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, a felony.

Police had been looking for a small Chevrolet or GMC pickup or sport-utility vehicle in connection with the Dec. 13 hit-and-run death of Shamika Redden, 28, of Fayetteville. She was found dead on Mount Comfort Road early Dec. 13, after a motorist called to report he'd run over someone.

Police determined, and the state medical examiner later confirmed, that Redden was already dead when that motorist hit her, and that she'd been struck by a vehicle.
