A Citrus County woman was killed early this morning when the car she was driving swerved off a road in Homosassa and struck a tree, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Paige Brittney Hanisch, 19, of Homosassa, was heading west on Halls River Road about 2 a.m. when her 2005 Dodge Neon went onto the north shoulder of the road, the patrol said. Hanisch overcorrected, and the car slid across the two lanes and struck a tree, troopers said.
Hanisch was the only occupant of the car and was not wearing a seat belt, troopers said.
