Two people are dead this morning after a single-vehicle crash in Montgomery County.

It happened at 8:00 Sunday morning in Limerick Township just off Route 422 on Limerick Center Road.

The driver of the vehicle lost control and hit a pole at that location.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as 21-year-old Ryan W Menkins of the 200 block of 2nd Avenue in Royersford, Pennsylvania.

The passenger was identified as 22-year-old Shana C Geyer of the 1200 unit of Walnut Ridge Estates, Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania.

Both were pronounced dead on scene.

The preliminary police investigation indicates that excessive speed was a factor in the crash.
