A Bethel man faces manslaughter charges after he allegedly shot another man in the head Saturday night, according to a written statement from Bethel police.
Police responded to the shooting on 319B Akiachak Avenue at 10:40 p.m. They arrested Ryan Burke, 26, on charges of manslaughter and fourth-degree weapons misconduct.
Medics rushed Dustin Anaruk, 24, to the hospital, according to the press release.
He was "pronounced dead on arrival from a single gunshot wound to the head."
Police believe the men were friends, said Sgt. Chris Salyers.
Alcohol was involved.
Police have released only limited information because the case remains under investigation, Salyers said.
