Morgann Ausloos died remembering the man she loved.

A memorial motorcycle ride was held Saturday to honor her fiancé, Jim Fleuter Sr., who had a fatal heart attack while on vacation in Mexico with Morgann in February.

Near the conclusion of the ride, Morgann lost control of the Harley-Davidson Night Train she was riding - it had been Jim's bike - and crashed on Highway 83 near Old Village Road in the Town of Genesee.

People say the two were perfect together in life, and now they're joined in death before they had a chance to marry. She was just 32; he was a little older at 49. They had bought a house in the Town of Mukwonago.

Morgann and Jim both endured heartbreak before they got together as a couple. Morgann's sister, Amanda Ausloos, was murdered by ex-boyfriend Timothy Husk, who later killed himself. That was in 2003. Amanda was 29. An employee at her construction business in Mukwonago, Nicholas Krause, also was slain by Husk.

Jim's wife, Joyce, and 21-year-old son, Christopher, died in a traffic accident in 2006 in Dane County. A pickup truck crossed the centerline and hit their car.

Jim worked in human resources at Generac Power Systems. Morgann used to work there, too, and that's how they met. More recently, she worked as a buyer at BRP in Sturtevant.

"They were absolutely an awesome couple. They were perfect for each other," said friend Kaycee Whitaker of Elm Grove.

Jim and Morgann both owned motorcycles. The gregarious pair also loved to camp, boat, hike and stay fit.

"He always referred to her as his angel," because she gave him a positive new outlook, said Morgann's father, Joe Ausloos of Waukesha. And she finally found happiness with Jim after some relationships that went bad.

Morgann told her father she might be marrying Jim during the vacation to Playa del Carmen, Mexico, in February. Kaycee and her fiancé went along on that trip. On the third day of the getaway, Jim was stricken with a heart attack and could not be revived.

In her grief, Morgann told Kaycee, "Between my sister and now this, I don't know how I'm going to be a normal person again, how I'll get over this."

One of the ways she chose was the memorial ride. A couple dozen riders started at Generac in Whitewater late Saturday morning and visited Wisconsin Harley-Davidson in Oconomowoc. The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department report says they also stopped at Knucklehead Pub & Grub in Eagle and Finn's Bar & Grill in Wales.

A few riders still around shortly before 6 p.m. headed with Morgann to her house for pizza and a bonfire. It was on that final leg of the trip that the accident occurred on a slight curve in the road a few miles from home.

It's not clear what caused Morgann to veer out of control into a ditch. Her father has been out to the scene this week to try and make sense of what happened. The man has lost two daughters and now has one surviving child, a son.

Visitation for Morgann will be June 2 at 4 p.m. at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 Blue Mound Road, Waukesha, with a memorial service at 8 p.m.

Morgann will be laid to rest next to her sister at Oak Knoll Cemetery in Mukwonago.
