Dominick B. Sciotti, 54, died Friday, June 4, 2010 at the Van Rensselaer Manor in North Greenbush.

Dom was born August 20, 1955 in Troy, the son of the late Leonard Sciotti and the late Marion Tyll. Dom was raised by his mother, Marion and his stepfather, the late John E. Tyll. He was raised in Troy and was a graduate of Troy High School.

His place of employment for the past 20 years was The Red Lobster. He loved his job, his co-workers and all his special friends that would ask to be seated in Dom's section.

He enjoyed music, movies and casinos. On weekends, Dom and his partners in crime, Tilly Martin and Pat Shultz would head off to Turning Stone for a weekend of fun. And oh, the stories they would tell!

Dom fought the fight and stayed positive throughout the process. He died battling a malignant brain tumor. We would like to thank his doctors, Dr. Susan Weaver and the entire staff at Albany Medical Center Oncology Dept. and Dr. Eric Gross. Many many thanks to the entire staff at the Van Rensselaer Manor for such wonderful and compassionate care.

Also thanks to Community Hospice for coming in during his final days, giving him the extra care he needed. They also were wonderful. He was never alone.

Special thanks to his brother-in-law, Mike Caruso, who has health issues himself, but took the time to care for Dom in his time of need. We love ya, Mike!

Dom is survived by his brother, Joseph Sciotti, wife, Shirley, their children, Geri, Niki, Stacie; brother, Leonard Sciotti, wife, Jane, their children, Janette, Jeff, Nicholas and Cloe; sister, Christine Caruso and her husband Mike; their children, Michelle and Michael, Michelle's spouse Ralph, Michelle's children, Josh, Mark and Austin; sister, Luanne Sciotti and Sheila Kordana; sister Lori Conley; husband, Frank; daughter, Erin and Frank's mother, Pat Conley. Longtime friend and part of the family, John Dundon; his cousin, Karen Braman and her daughter, Jessica; Tilly Martin and her family and Pat Schultz - "They were Dom's extended family."

Dom lived in the moment, he lived a lot of life in his short 54 years. We love him and we will miss him. He will never be forgotten. He is in heaven now with his loved ones who passed before him. Our prayers are with you as you move on to eternal life.
