A pair of siblings had their first court appearance Tuesday morning after homicide detectives brought them back from Minnesota, where they were charged last week in connection to the murder of a 29-year-old Reno father of two.

During their first appearance in Reno Justice Court, Timothy Wayne Morgan, 25, and his sister, Kristi Michelle Preimesberger were given a Sept. 8 preliminary hearing date regarding the murder of Eric Preimesberger.

Detectives on Aug. 19 found the remains of Eric Preimesberger, who had been missing since April 24 when police allege Morgan killed him during an altercation. He was found near Frenchman's Reservoir in Plumas County.

Preimesberger's wife is accused of covering up the slaying and fleeing with her brother and children first to Oregon, and then across the country to Minnesota.

Morgan, 25, is charged in a $1 million warrant for the murder of Eric Preimesberger, who was his brother-in-law and best friend. Preimesberger's wife, Kristi Michelle Preimesberger, 30, is being held on a $100,000 cash bail on a material witness warrant.

The siblings remain in the Washoe County Jail.

Police allege that Morgan fatally bludgeoned Eric Preimesberger during an April 24 argument at the couple's Red Baron Boulevard home. Kristi Preimesberger is expected to testify about events leading up to her husband's death.

During an interview with police, Morgan said that after he struck Eric Preimesberger in the head twice with a bat, he and his sister moved his bleeding body into a laundry room, court records show. A few hours later, they realized he was dead. They then placed him in the back of a vehicle, where his rotting body was concealed for days while Morgan figured out what to do with him. The siblings never called police or summoned medical assistance.

According to an arrest affidavit, Morgan rented a moving truck and a commerical freezer, which he used to transport Eric Preimesberger's body. He then dumped his body near Frenchman's Reservoir, and then burned evidence related to the crime.

Court records show that once Kristi Preimesberger was aware police in Oregon were helping investigate her husband's disappearance, she fled to Minnesota with Morgan and her kids. The siblings were arrested last week in Minnosota on respective drug and child neglect charges. Prior to their arrest, authorities did not know their whereabouts.

On May 17, Eric Preimesberger's mother reported him missing to Reno police. Detectives said his wife was not cooperative in their investigation and often refused to tell them where she was living, court records show. She claimed he abandoned his family and beloved motor scooter following a heated argument, and was never seen again.

The couple had been planning on moving to Oregon with Morgan to start a business. Morgan had been helping them pack when Eric Preimesberger was killed.

Eric Preimesberger was an unemployed salesman while his wife worked as a local stripper. Their children have been placed with relatives.
