Joshua Thomas Sharp, age 18, of Carlisle, passed away Thursday, May 6, 2010 at his home. Born April 8, 1992 in Harrisburg, he was the son of Richard and Mary Lou (Fuller) Sharp.
Joshua was a junior at Cumberland Valley High School and an employee of the Cumberland Parkway Giant Food Store in Mechanicsburg. He was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Mechanicsburg, and played bass guitar in his band Love is in the Ashes. Joshua participated in the CVYBA as a basketball player as well as a referee. He was an avid sports fan and he especially loved music.
Surviving in addition to his parents is his sister Erica Leibfried and her husband Mike of Mechanicsburg, his nephew Christian Leibfried and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved him and will miss him dearly.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 1 Peter Drive, Mechanicsburg with the Rev. Stephen D. Weitzel as celebrant. Viewing will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday at Malpezzi Funeral Home. Private burial will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
