Janel A. Paradis, 38, of South Chestnut Street, died unexpectedly on March 4, 2010, at Maine Medical Center, Portland.
She was born in Augusta on March 16, 1971, the daughter of Richard N. Paradis Sr. and Joyce (Wing) Paradis.
Janel graduated from Cony High School in the class of 1990.
She was self-employed as a day care provider for many years.
Janel was a member of St. Michael Parish at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church.
Surviving are two sons, Christopher Frazier and Joshua Swindells, both of Augusta; her father and stepmother, Sally Paradis, of Augusta; her mother, Joyce LaPointe and stepfather David LaPointe, of Winslow; one brother, Richard N. "Rick" Paradis Jr., of Waterville; one sister, Renee Black and her husband, Jason Black, of Manchester; paternal grandmother Bernadette Paradis, of Augusta; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
No public visiting hours are scheduled. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 6, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Augusta. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery at a later date.
