THE heartbroken parents of a 'totally unique' schoolboy found hanged at his home last night urged all who knew him to celebrate his short life.
Speaking from their house in Abergele where 14-year-old Ben Perrin died, his parents Ray and Louise fought back tears as they paid loving tribute to their 'most beautiful son'.
Ray, 45, told the Post: "We were blessed to have known Ben for 14 years and we are so proud to have him as our son.
"He was a little star and my best friend and had a lot of determination for everything he did."
Ysgol Emrys ap Iwan pupil Ben was found hanging at the house in Clwyd Avenue at around 1.50pm on Friday.
Popular Ben was a star athlete at Abergele Swimming Club until last year, and had a love of music, performing and motocross.
Surrounded by hundreds of floral tributes, messages and cards, yesterday his mum Louise, 43, said: "We want Ben to be remembered in a positive way.
"He had so much confidence and a bright and smiley personality, everybody loved him.
"His school friends have made vibrant coloured ribbons, which they are wearing in his memory.
"Ben loved loud, bright colours.
"He was totally unique, there just aren't enough words to sum him up and we will all miss him dearly," she added.
"He had a real passion for motorbikes and absolutely loved his music. He had his own drum kit and played in several bands.
"He just had so much to give, he was a real people person."
Ben worked as a Saturday boy at Gele Butchers and played rugby for Abergele Juniors.
He had his sights set on a career in stage lighting.
"Everyone had a tale to tell about Ben, he had such an infectious personality," said Ray. "He loved a wide range of music and was a real inspiration to others.
"We want his funeral to be a happy occasion and a real celebration of his life. We want his friends to wear the clothes they would wear if they were calling for him to go out."
Ben leaves behind an older brother, Dan, 20, and sister Ellie, 17.
His funeral takes place this Friday March 14 at 10am at St Michael's Church, Abergele.
A North Wales Police spokesperson said yesterday: "Police were called at 1.52pm on Friday after receiving reports that the body of a 14-year-old boy had been found hanging at an address in Clwyd Avenue, Abergele.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious."
An inquest was yesterday opened and adjourned.
