Anna Marie Coons, 18, of Springfield, died Sunday, March 21, from injuries sustained in an accident in Montgomery County involving her horse, Hannah, according to an obituary printed in the Tuesday, March 23, Springfield News-Sun.
The Montgomery County Coroner's Office listed "accident" as the cause of death, according to an employee there.

Ms. Coons is the daughter of Northwestern Elementary School physical education teacher Joe Coons and his wife, Joanne. She is survived by her parents, brothers Samuel, Joel, and Josh; and one younger sister, Abilgail, according to her obituary.

She also is survived by a fiance, Kenny Copley, whom she was set to marry in October, and a large extended family.

Ms. Coons' obituary highlighted her Christian faith and a close relationship with her family.
Ms. Coons was an active member of the New Covenant Church of God and was also an employee of Oakwood Village, where she served residents meals and helped them with activities.
The family will receive visitors from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today, March 24, at Jackson Lytle Williams Funeral Home, 2425 N. Limestone St., Springfield.

A celebration of Ms. Coons' life will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, Ms. Coons' obituary requests that donations be made in her memory in support of the Miami Valley Hospital Trauma Center's CareFlight program, One Wyoming Street, Dayton, OH 45409.
