West Allis Police say that a couple going through a divorce were found dead.

"It is terrible," said neighbor Jeff Hopf. Reality was setting in that his next door neighbor was murdered on Monday afternoon.

Family members told TODAY'S TMJ4's Melissa McCrady that Matthew Krejci shot and killed his estranged wife, Grace Krejci, who was 23.

Investigators believe he then turned the gun on himself.

Police have not confirmed their names.

Court records show that the two were going through a divorce.

Grace had also filed for a restraining order.

Hopf said the commotion and the suspicious truck parked out front of his home had caught his attention.

Just then, he heard sirens.

Officers found the bodies in the bathroom.

"I was just heartbroken," said Hopf.

Grace's three year old daughter was upstairs in a bedroom. She was not hurt.

"I'm glad the child was not involved," explained Hopf. "That was the good thing."

We are told the little girl is now staying with her grandparents are is doing OK.

There was also a disurbing incident involving Matthew earlier this year. He was charged with child neglect in Waukesha county because investigators say he overdosed on prescription pills and antifreeze while home alone with the couple's daughter. It was an apparent suicide attempt inside a Town of Lisbon home that belongs to his parents.
