A mother-of-four hanged herself at home as her four young children slept just feet away.
Sasha McCann, from Dagenham, Essex, killed herself in the early hours of the morning, an inquest heard.

The 38-year-old mother was found in the living room as her children aged 11, seven and four slept upstairs and her 10-month-old baby lay in a pram.

Miss McCann's mother, Frances Drew, said her daughter had been 'a bit depressed' before her death but she thought she was all right.

Kelly Collins, a friend of Miss McCann, told the hearing: 'This last week she was very keen on wanting to leave the children with me.

'It was so unlike her. She just did not seem to be herself.

'She was much loved. My children saw her as Auntie Sasha.

'She was a very caring and loving mother and was always looking out for other people.'

Mrs Drew and Ms Collins said that apart from a bout of depression after having one of her children, Miss McCann had never given any indication of being suicidal.

In the early hours of September 18, Ms Collins got a text from Miss McCann in which she said she was 'sorry about everyone'.

She tried to call her without success and asked Mrs Drew, who lives nearby, to check on Sasha but no-one answered the door.

They called police who forced their way into the house and found Miss McCann dead in the front room.

She had left a suicide note on the sofa.
A post-mortem examination gave cause of death as hanging.

Dr Elisabeth Stearns, coroner for eastern London, said: 'The verdict of this court is that she killed herself.'
