One person was killed and three others injured in three separate snowmobile crashes in southern McLeod County last weekend.

Trent Ondrachek, 26, of Glencoe, died Sunday in a crash shortly before 4 p.m. on Dairy Avenue near 90th Street, southeast of Glencoe. His snowmobile — a 2007 Polaris 600 IQ — and a 2002 Polaris 700XCSP, operated by his brother Tanner Arnold Ondrachek, 20, of Glencoe, both struck a ditch.

Glencoe Ambulance brought both Trent and Tanner to Glencoe Regional Health Services for treatment of injuries. Trent was declared dead at the hospital as a result of his injuries.

At about 3 p.m. Saturday, another crash also on Dairy Avenue near 90th Street, southeast of Glencoe, injured a 44-year-old Lester Prairie man. Brian Gatz, who was operating a 2005 Polaris 900 RMK, was taken to Waconia Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

About 45 minutes later, another snowmobile crash occurred near the intersection of U.S. Highway 212 and Acorn Avenue, east of Plato. Daniel Joseph Flusemann, 53, of Norwood-Young America, was injured while operating a 2009 Polaris Shift. He was taken to Waconia Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
