Police have charged two men in connection with the shooting death of a 23-year-old man this morning in the 4100 block of Newsome Drive.
Ryan Ramon Mauricio Frink, 20, and Rakeem Ramon Williams, 21, each of Newport News, were charged with murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, a Newport News police news release said.
About 5:20 a.m. Newport News police were called to the 4100 block of Newsome Drive on a report of a shooting and found Derron Richardson, 23, suffering a gunshot wound to his upper body, said Holly McPherson, police spokeswoman. He died at the scene.
Richardson lived in the 2300 block of Jefferson Ave. in Newport News.
