Mundy Township police have identified Tuesday's fatal accident victim as Casey Bruce Masak, 27, of Linden.
Witnesses told police a 2010 Dodge Avenger driven by Masak lost control around 12:37 a.m. on southbound US-23, struck a median guardrail, ran off the shoulder, struck a tree and rolled over.
Township Police Chief Jim Petres said Masak was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
A 28-year-old woman and 40-year-old woman, both of Fenton, were taken to Genesys Regional Medical Center for non life-threatening injuries. Police have not released their names.
Police are still unclear if alcohol or road conditions were factors in the accident, Petres said. The accident remains under investigation.
One lane of southbound US-23 was closed until around 4 a.m. until the accident site was cleared.
