A 25-year-old Island Lake man was killed late Tuesday night after he was hit by a drunken driver while riding his motorcycle in Prairie Grove, police officials said.

Marcus A. Cicero was heading east on Route 176 on his 2006 Honda motorcycle when a westbound pickup truck driven by Eugene D. Touchstone, 61, of Crystal Lake, turned left in front of Cicero at Bay View Beach Road, police officials said.

Cicero, who was not wearing a helmet, slammed into the passenger side rear of the blue Chevrolet pickup about 11:25 p.m., police officials said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by the McHenry County Coroner's office, officials said.

Touchstone was taken to Centegra Hospital-McHenry, where he was evaluated for injuries and tested, police said.

Following the investigation, Touchstone was charged with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, a Class 2 felony, and also a citation for failure to yield. He is held in McHenry County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.

Route 176 was shut down following the accident for about five hours, police officials said.
