A GIRL of 17 has been killed in a double death crash just weeks after her boyfriend lost his life in a chillingly similar accident.

Ahlee Jackson and pal Callum Matheson, 17, were in a car her boyfriend once owned.

The car, a sporty Skoda Fabia VRS, hit a tree in the centre of Inverness yesterday morning.
Ahlee and Callum both died in the wreckage.

It's believed the Fabia used to belong to boyfriend, 22-year-old apprentice lorry mechanic Kieran Ramsay.

Kieran was killed on January 17 when his works van left the B9161 Artafallie to Munlochy road on the Black Isle in icy conditions.
In a tragic twist, Kieran also died after hitting a tree.

Witnesses to yesterday's accident. said it looked like the Fabia had failed to get around a tight bend.

One local resident said: "The car destroyed a lamp-post and demolished a 12-inch thick wall.
"It then appears to have carried on into a garden and hit a big pine tree.

"It looks like the car didn't make the bend, and went straight on."

Firefighters had to cut the bodies from the wreckage.

The remains were taken to Raigmore Hospital for formal identif ication and postmortem examinations. Both victims lived in Inverness.
Ahlee's Bebo page was flooded with tributes last night .

One friend wrote: "I'm glad Kieran and you will be together now. Please look after each other.
"You are an amazing young lady who will be dearly missed."

Another pal added: "I keep phoning your phone, hoping they have got it wrong and it's going to ring. I love you."

And a third friend wrote: "I couldn't believe it when I found out. I still can't get my head around it."

The scene of yesterday's tragedy, at the junction of Island Bank Road and Drummond Crescent, was sealed off by police for crash investigations.

Ahlee travelled to Kieran's funeral in the front seat of his Fabia. And the car, driven by one of Kieran's pals, later led the procession to the crematorium.

Kieran, of Avoch on the Black Isle, had a passion for cars. He was a member of the North of Scotland Modified Car Club and drove a Fabia VRS.

He worked for lorry firm Scania - he was on his way to a repair job at Inverness Airport when he was killed - and a parade of customised vehicles and trucks joined the funeral cortege.
About a dozen customised cars from Kieran's car club also took part in the funeral procession.
Many were decorated with stickers produced and sold specially in his memory to raise cash to help injured car crash victims.

The humanist service was held at a funeral home in Inverness, and the programme included a poignant poem written by Kieran's stepfather, Kevin McAuley.

The last two lines of the poem were: "I shall not be unhappy to depart this world.
"I have been loved so much more than most."
