A Spotsylvania County man was killed at his home late Wednesday during a dispute over cleanliness, police said.

Ronald Streeter, 29, was lying on the floor with multiple gunshot wounds to his legs and lower torso when deputies arrived about 11 p.m., Capt. R.W. Gill said. Streeter was taken to Mary Washington Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Jamel Nelson, 27, is wanted on second-degree murder and other charges, Gill said. He left the scene before deputies arrived and police think he might have headed to New York, where he has family and friends.

Gill said Streeter and Nelson, who lived at the home periodically, got into a heated argument Wednesday night about the house being dirty. The argument led to a fistfight and resulted in Streeter's slaying.

Two witnesses at the residence, neither of whom lived there, identifiBed Nelson as the suspect.

Gill said Nelson is possibly driving a black Acura SUV with Virginia tags XPA-3759.

Anyone with information about Nelson's whereabouts is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 582-7115 or Crime Solvers at 582-5822.
