Two people were killed when their car plowed into a Phoenix home early Friday morning.

It happened shortly before 3 a.m. at 25th Street and Osborn Road.

According to police, the car was heading east on Osborn Road when the driver lost control.

"The vehicle left the roadway west of 25th Street, passed through a yard, through some bushes, then passed over 25th Street and collided with a house," explained Sgt. Tommy Thompson of the Phoenix Police Department.

Both the driver and his passenger were ejected from the car. The two victims -- Russell Hubbard, 30, and Kimberly Shasteen, 35, -- were pronounced dead at the scene, Thompson said.

Video from the scene showed the badly mangled 2006 Kia on its roof, its front half inside the home on the northeast corner of the intersection.

It's not clear what led up to the crash.

"We believe speed to be a factor in this collision," said Lt. Pat Hofmann of the Phoenix Police Department. "A vehicle impacting into a residence, causing that much damage, that will be something we're looking at."

In addition, investigators do not believe the victims were wearing seat belts.

Two people were inside the house at the time of the crash; neither one was hurt.

Osborn Road was closed in the area for several hours.
