A 22-year-old Roosevelt High School graduate missing since November has been found dead in an apparent suicide, The Seattle Times reported Wednesday.

According to the Times report, the family of Joe Sjoberg – a Seattle man who'd recently settled in Madison, Wis. for work – said the recent college graduate's body was found inside his burned-out car in rural Wisconsin.

"Everybody wants to say it's a relief. It really isn't," Muriel Murphy, Sjoberg's mother, told The Times.

Sjoberg's family said he died by suicide, though a police investigation continues.

Shortly after the young man disappeared, Sjoberg's friends and family launched an online effort to draw attention to his disappearance. The effort drew national attention and hundreds of well-wishers.

Monday evening, a family member noted that a body had been found inside Sjoberg's car.
