The man police named one of several "persons of interest" in the murder of an East Hampton woman has been found dead.
Police named Oscar Wojtanowski a person of interest in the death of Jaclyn Fitzgerald, a 24-year-old woman who worked as a stripper in Hartford.
The medical examiner has not released how Wojtanowski died, and police are not commenting on his death.
The Norwich Bulletin reports that Wojtanowski is believed to have jumped from the 5th floor of a parking garage at Mohegan Sun casino on Sunday night, but police are waiting on a positive identification. Police have not confirmed that for NBC Connecticut.
Fitzgerald, 24, had been missing since Thursday and her twin sister called police after not being able to reach her. Police found her body in her Namonee Trail home on Friday and ruled her death a homicide.
Police Chief Matthew Reimondo told the Bulletin that Wojtanowski was Fitzgerald's "on-and-off boyfriend," and the couple had a "rocky relationship."
Reimondo said local police and State Police executed a search warrant at a Newington apartment on 85 Faith Road, which belongs to someone Fitzgerald knew, and searched two cars at the residence on Saturday
Police had been to the home before, her neighbor said. When Fitzgerald first moved into the neighborhood about three years ago, she called police about trouble with her ex, whom she had filed a restraining order against, the neighbor said.
