An 18-year-old woman was killed in a solo vehicle crash on Interstate 15 in Escondido early Tuesday, authorities said.

The fatality on the northbound side of the freeway at Felicita Road was reported at 2:51 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

The woman was going an estimated 70-75 mph when her vehicle drifted into a center divide and struck the end of a concrete barrier, a CHP spokesman said. She died at the scene.
