46-year-old Eugene Fraser and his common law wife, 41-year-old Donna Chance, had been together for more than 20 years. They had two children, including a son, 20-year-old Robert. Friends say the Frasers could only be described as a happy family. Eugene had a cement company. Robert worked with him.

"He did all our cement work in our house in Detroit, and his son's a very hard worker. He worked with his dad from knee on high," Janet Klein told FOX 2.

However, something apparently went drastically wrong Monday morning. Police say Eugene shot Robert, then went to pick up Donna from work at the Lowes store in Warren and shot her while they were driving along Panama Street, also in Warren. He then shot himself and slammed into a tree.

"Thought it was just a plain old regular car accident. Somebody just lost judgment and hit the tree, but it turned out not to be that way," said witness Ulysses McCaskill.

It initially appeared Donna was Eugene's only alleged victim before police stopped by the family's home to tell their son about the tragedy and found him dead, still in his bed.

FOX 2 cameras were rolling as police brought four hunting rifles out of the house. Sources say police also found marijuana, but it was most likely for personal use, not for sale. They also found an open safe.

On April first, Robert posted the following on his Facebook page. "First day to back to work. I hope me and my old man get along better this year."

But does that really prove the two had a rocky relationship? We can't be sure.

Sadly, in a case like this, there are plenty of questions, plenty of theories and very few answers.

The couple also had a daughter. Friends tell us she lives with her grandmother in Roseville. When police came to tell her about what happened to her parents, she told them to go to the house and check on her brother. That's how he was found.
