An insurance agent described by a friend as a "saint here on earth" died this week as a result of a two-vehicle crash on McNab Road.

Kenisha Darling was 27.

According to police, Darling was driving a 2003 Nissan Altima eastbound on West McNab Road shortly before 2 p.m. Tuesday when for reasons yet to be determined, she crossed over the raised grassy median near Hawkins Road and into the path of an oncoming Honda Pilot, according to Detective Travis Mandell, a spokesman for the Fort Lauderdale Police Department.

Darling, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to North Broward Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead Tuesday.

The driver of the Honda Pilot, Jacques Alexandre, 24, was also hospitalized with serious injuries, but has since been released.

The cause of the fatal crash remains under investigation.

"Kenisha was a hard-working, loyal soul and she always had time for others," stated Shannon Their, a friend of Darling, in an e-mail.
