Two teens were killed and another was airlifted to Blessing Hospital with serious injures after a crash Monday night near Illini West High School.

The driver, 18-year-old Kathlina Reinig, of Warsaw, and a passenger, 16-year-old Gavin Roskamp, of Sutter, were pronounced dead at the scene.

One passenger, Kaitlyn D. Long, 17, of Nauvoo, is listed in serious condition at Blessing Hospital in Quincy. Two other passengers, Kaylee S. Mcghghly, 15, of Nauvoo and Cory T. Kendall, 17, of Warsaw, are both listed with minor injuries at Memorial Hospital in Carthage.

Officials say the crash happened in a 2006 Chevy Cobalt at 6:20 p.m. Monday, on Hancock County Road 1600 North, about one-half mile east of 1950th East near Carthage.

Police say Reinig lost control after jumping the vehicle on the crest of a hill and rolled several times before hitting a tree. The surviving teens told police they were traveling to an area where local kids attempt to "hill-hop", or ramp off a sharp-graded hill, with their vehicle.

Police say all five teens were wearing their seatbelts. No alcohol or drugs were suspected in the incident.
