An investigation is underway after a woman was shot to death in Bond Hill early Monday morning.

The shooting happened around 12:45 a.m. in the 7000 block of Glenmeadow Lane.

When officials arrived on the scene, they found 19-year-old Janice Murrell dead.

Police say the boyfriend of the woman, 37-year-old Donald Gordon, called 911 saying he accidentally shot Murrell in the shoulder, according to the 911 tape.

The 911 call went as followed:
Operator: Ok, you say this was an accidental shooting?
Man: Yes, ma'am.
Operator: OK, you said 'um, you were playing with the gun and the female was shot in the shoulder?!
Man: Yes, ma'am.
Man: She's bleeding.
Operator: OK, stay on the line, I will let you speak with the medical call takers. OK? Stay on the line with me.
Man: Could you help her, please?
Operator: OK, the main--listen to me...the medical call takers are all tied but, the police and fire department are responding. Is the gun put up?
Man: Yes, ma'am. Do I need to uh? Do you want me to me to take her?
Operator: No, the fire and police are responding?
Man: OK, thank you.
Operator: You're welcome.

Gordon was arrested and charged with having weapons while under disability and possession of drugs.

The incident remains under investigation.
