Adam Daniel Jarnagin, 24, died in a motorcycle accident on Saturday, August 27, 2011. Adam was born May 27, 1987 in Des Moines and raised by his parents, Gary and Kris Jarnagin.

Adam attended Lincoln High School through 11th grade and graduated from Panorama High School in 2005. Adam attended Job Corps in Excelsior Springs, Missouri after high school and then served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps until his honorable discharge in March of this year. Adam was stationed at Camp Pendleton, California, and completed three deployments, including one to Afghanistan. He was currently a Corporal in the Reserves of the U.S. Marine Corps.

Adam worked at Countertops by Willett, side by side with his dad. He enjoyed time with his family, hanging out with friends, and had a great passion for fishing and the outdoors.

Adam is survived by his parents, Gary and Kris Jarnagin of Panora; brothers, Aaron and Isaac Jarnagin of Panora; paternal grandparents, Earl and Frances Jarnagin of Panora; maternal grandparents, Darrell and Merna Johnson of Ackley; great-grandmother, Lucy Roche of Quincy, Massachusetts; friend, Courtney Deardorff of Yale; sister, Amanda Miller of Des Moines; several uncles, aunts, and cousins; and many beloved friends.

Funeral services will be held 12 p.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2011, at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 121 NW 60th Avenue. Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at West Cemetery in Panora. Visitation will be held 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with family present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Camp Appanoose, where Adam spent many enjoyable summer weeks growing up. 13380 430th Street, Plano, IA 52581.
