Suffolk police were investigating an apparent murder-suicide that happened Tuesday morning inside an apartment on Spruce Street. Authorities said Jason Jenkins, 27, forced his way into the apartment of his ex-girlfriend, 26-year-old Santia Williams, with a shotgun. According to Detective Lt. Gerard Pelkofsky, the two argued over the custody of their 3-month-old daughter. Shortly after the argument, Jenkins shot Williams before turning the gun on himself, Pelkofsky said. The infant and two other children were in the apartment at the time but were not harmed.
