A couple found dead in a home explosion had planned to lure as many police officers as possible to their remote ranch before detonating the device and killing them all.

Jesse Lee and Diedre Firestone made extensive written and videoed plans outlining their intentions to murder sheriff's deputies as they entered the Dome Valley, Arizona home.

The plans, which show the couple then planned to commit suicide, were unearthed by investigators searching the home destroyed on December 23 while surrounded by police officers.

Eerie: Jesse and Diedre Firestone in one of the videos found by police investigating a home explosion. The couple had planned to lure officers to their Arizona home before blowing it up and killing themselves

The videos were released by Yuma County Sheriff's Office and uploaded by local news site, YumaSun.com.

In the footage, Jesse, 65, wanders through his desert home filming a cache of startling items, including a shrine bearing a picture of Osama bin Laden beneath a sign reading 'Church of Death'.

In a separate video, he films his .357 magnum rifle alongside a hole in the wall to fire through. He mentions deputies by name, adding: 'It's nothing personal.'

Another video shows Jesse apparently calling 911 to tell the operator he had 'mercifully killed' his wife, who was suffering from 'self-diagnosed' breast cancer.

Shrine: Beneath the shrine, the video shows a bible, two 'Firestone Gospels' and a picture of Osama Bin Laden

A separate video shows the pair on a roof terrace as they wait for authorities to arrive.
In a standoff not captured on camera, police arrived in response to the call. The man then opened fire on the officers surrounding the house but only struck a vehicle.

The home then exploded, with one deputy suffering minor injuries when he was thrown by the blast.

A special response team joined firefighters putting out a fire caused by the explosion and found an undetonated improvised explosive device near the property, the Yuma Sun reported.

The bodies of Jesse, 65, and Diedre Firestone, 45, were found two days later.

In seven videos made by the Firestones and released by the Yuma County Sheriff's Office, the couple are filmed outlining their plans:
Jesse Lee Firestone

'I'm at peace with this. We hope [the house] is going up in smoke'
'They say you haven't lived until you've died'
'That's my .357 magnum rifle. I'm going to release it right through that hole there'
'Deputy Darren, you TSA people - it's nothing personal'
'We're standing in front of the Church of Death. Praise God for death'

'This is one real holy war against America and not some made up bullcrap like 9/11'

'The motive behind their plan is not known, but it was clear they fully intended to murder as many deputies as possible prior to taking their own lives, Captain Bratcher told the Yuma Sun.
'These people absolutely had a plan, and I think they wanted to die and make as big of a scene as they could possibly make.'

He added that it is not known whether the explosion happened ahead of time or if the couple changed their minds about killing officers.

When a bomb squad entered the home two days after the explosion, they found a bedroom and living room heavily damaged, with the roof caved in.

Near the two bodies, they found 15 five-gallon propane bottles. Two bottles appeared to bear bullet holes, possibly indicating the explosion was intentional, the Associated Press reported.
The eerie videos show the couple's extensive plans, as well as their anger at 'evil enforcers'.

In one video, Jesse drives his truck and speaks to the camera, filming his sprawling home in the distance.

'They say you haven't lived until you've died... I'm at peace with this,' he says, before mentioning deputies by name. 'They need to show up,' he adds.

Lured: Jesse films his wife on their balcony to wait for authorities to arrive after the 911 call. Police believe the Firestones intended to blow up officers, but the house exploded prematurely, only killing the couple

Destroyed: The explosion at the Dome Valley, Arizona home was caused by propane, it is believed

While Jesse only appears on camera once to kiss his wife, he repeatedly films Diedre, with her often asking him to stop the camera.

In one video, she hints at their motive: 'This is one real holy war against America and not some made up bullcrap like 9/11.'

Another video shows their religious inclinations. The shrine with Osama Bin Laden's photograph also contains a bible and two binders with handmade covers entitled the 'Firestone Gospel'.

'We're standing in front of the Church of Death,' Jesse says. 'Praise God for death.'
