Jenifer Irene (Anderson) Schwarz Monday October 31, 2011, Jenifer Irene (Anderson) Schwarz passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at her home in Oakland, California, due to a cerebral aneurysm. Jenifer was born January 31, 1968, in Escanaba, Michigan. After a brief stint as a military brat, living in New Mexico and Germany, she grew up in Green Bay and Madison, Wisconsin, graduating in 1986 from Madison's Malcolm Shabazz City High School and earning National Merit Semi-Finalist status. After perfecting the art of baking muffins and scones for the Ovens of Brittany restaurant in Madison, Jenifer left the Midwest to attend San Francisco State University, only to return to Wisconsin and earn her Bachelor's Degree in Sociology, with honors, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1994. She returned west and worked as a paralegal assistant for several firms in the San Francisco Bay Area, and attended law school at the University of California Boalt Hall. After leaving school, she returned to work in the legal field, lastly as a judicial assistant to Justice Maria Rivera of the California Courts of Appeal in San Francisco. Jenifer's multi-faceted personality and interests led in many different directions. In addition to mastering the intellectual arts in the legal field, she remained an enthusiastic baker, and enjoyed reading, music, movies and the arts. Before playing claim to the title of Madison's first female punk rocker, she was the only girl in the Dungeons & Dragons Club at the Cherokee Heights Middle School in Madison. Jenifer also enjoyed the quiet life with her family, her many close friends, and her cats. In recent years, she returned to her roots and enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers. Jenifer is survived by her beloved son, B.D. Schwarz, former husband Andrew Schwarz, father Paul and step-mother Cheryl Schwarzenbart, sister Sarah (Steven) Mackesey, step-sisters Amanda and Kimberly Schwarzenbart, niece Noelle and nephew Jason Mackesey, and grandparents Fred and Doris Schwarzenbart. She was preceded in death by her birth father, Dennis Anderson, and by birth grandparents, Russell and Irene Anderson, and Bill and Grace Peters. A memorial service for Jenifer will be held in the Julia Morgan Chapel at the Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Avenue in Oakland, on Friday November 11 at 1:00 p.m. Cards, memorials, and remembrances of Jenifer can be sent to the family through her father: Paul Schwarzenbart S2950 Golf Course Rd., Reedsburg, Wisconsin 53959.
