A heartbroken Citrus Heights mother is trying to make sense of her daughter's brutal stabbing at the Meadows Apartment Complex early Saturday morning.

26-year old, Monica Anderson was allegedly stabbed by her friend and one-time roommate, 20-year old, Lan Le after an argument.

Anderson's mother, Vee Arroyo says her daughter loved baseball, was very close-knit to her family, and had a huge giving heart.

"She had such a giving heart. I think her giving trusting heart is what got her into trouble. She befriended someone who hurt her."

This mom says she can't believe what happened. They feel so betrayed. At one point, the murder suspect even ate dinner with all of their in her own home.

"I'm glad they have that person. I've forgiven her but I don't want her to have power on me."

Arroyo says, her daughter let Le borrow clothes, her cell phone, her car.

Ultimately Monica kicked Le out possibly for drug abuse.

Because Monica asked her to leave this mom thinks the murder suspect couldn't handle it.

Citrus Heights continue to investigate the motive behind the murder.

Vee says right now she's feeling a painful void.

"I just want her back and I know that's not possible."

Vee says her family's strong religious faith will get them through this tough time.
