A Florida woman died and several other people were injured when their van collided into the side of a dump truck Monday in Penn Township, Cumberland County, according to investigators.

Coroner Matt Stoner identified the woman as 34-year-old Serafina Kinnare, of St. Augustine.

State police said seven children and four adults were in the 2010 Ford Econoline van when it went through a stop sign at the intersection of routes 174 and 233. Authorities said the force of the impact nearly caused the loaded dump truck to overturn.

"There were three people in the van that were ejected, one of them being the deceased," Corporal Tom Pinkerton said. "The other two that were ejected were flown to Hershey Medical Center, and the driver was transported by ambulance to Carlisle Regional Hospital."

Police said Kinnare was seated in the front passenger seat and was not wearing a seatbelt. A woman in the second row and a man in the middle row were also ejected from the van.

State police identified the driver as 36-year-old William Kinnare, also of Saint Augustine, but no other names were released.

Pinkerton said the children were not seriously injured, but were taken to a hospital for observation. He said the children were properly restrained in safety seats.

Police said the van was headed south on Route 233, known locally as Centerville Road, on a planned trip to Pine Grove Furnace State Park. Route 174 is also known as Walnut Bottom Road.

The driver of the dump truck was not seriously injured.
