Jerry James Hays, 23, of Richmond, Va., died Sunday, May 14, 2006. He was born September 1, 1982 in Norfolk, Va. and was a son of Joan Ryan Carlton of Grand Junction, Colo. and James R. Hays Jr. of Glen Allen, Va. He attended James R. Tucker High School and was a student at ECPI. In addition to his parents, survivors include his daughter, Jamie Lynn Hays, of Richmond; stepmother, Maxine Hays; three brothers, Joseph Hays of Chester, Jon Hays and Jeffrey Hays, both of Richmond; a stepbrother, Eric Barlow, of Glen Allen; a stepsister, April Barlow, of Richmond; his girlfriend, Heather Joris, of Richmond; grandmother, Dorothy Kron, of Pittsburg, Pa.; and stepgrandmother, Pauline Waggy, of Franklin, W.Va.
