Iesha Donaby visited her aunts, uncles and cousins in Wichita almost every
summer. This year was no different. Had she lived, she would have returned to her family in West Helena, Arkansas, on Thursday.

But Donaby's life was cut tragically short by what her relatives call a
senseless act of violence.

"I heard the six shots," said Ida Staten, Donaby's aunt. "She took two of
the shots. One to the mouth, the other to her side."

Relatives watched in horror as the 17-year-old straight-A student with hopes
for a bright future died in front of them Monday night. Donaby had been
riding in a car with two cousins. They were heading to Staten's house, when
they said a car in front of them stopped in the middle of the road. Donaby's
18-year-old cousin honked at the driver, then proceeded to go around him.

Authorities said that the other driver followed Donaby's car home. As Donaby and her cousins stepped out of the car, the other driver pulled in behind and began to exchange words. Moments later, shots rang out. Donaby was hit.

"It happened right before their eyes," said Katherine Staten, another of
Donaby's aunts. "All they could do was watch her walk into Aunt Ida's
house and fall at the foot of her bed and die."

Donaby's family wants justice for her murder. Eighteen members of the
family are pitching in for a $5,000 reward for information leading to the
arrest of her killer.

Police said Donaby and her cousins did not know the man who shot her.
Authorities have not yet released a motive in the murder.

The suspect is described as a black male in his twenties with light-toned
skin, five-feet ten-inches to six-feet tall. He was last seen driving a
white Pontiac 4-door, possibly a 1998 model. Police said there may have been others in the car with the shooter at the time. Anybody with information in the case is urged to call police immediately.

In the meantime, Donaby's family says the case is in God's hands. They hope for justice in her death.

"Whatever little information they got, come forward," said Katherine Staten.
"That's all we're asking."

Donaby will be laid to rest in her hometown of West Helena, Arkansas, on
Saturday.
