The Monroe County Sheriff's Department is investigating an accident that killed a 16-year-old South Rockwood teen.

Investigators say Jacob Weeks was trying to cross the US Turnpike near S. Huron River Drive when he was hit by a northbound semi. Weeks is believed to have been returning home from the Lakepointe Marina Party Store when he was killed.

The truck's driver was not injured in the crash. The accident is still under investigation.
