Kollin Komis Heimke, age 16, of 24503 West Hillcrest Road, Brillion, passed away on January 14, 2013 as a result of an auto accident.

Kollin was born on August 24, 1996 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, son of Brad and Kelly (Komis) Heimke. He attended Brillion schools and was in the eleventh grade at Brillion High School. Kollin worked in the summer at Superior Floor Covering, where he was well liked and seemed to know and talk with every client. He also worked on Tim Ferry's farm, willing to do any job that was asked of him. Kollin was a very active person, enjoying snowboarding, wake boarding, and fishing and hunting with his Dad on many trips. At school, he also played football, was on the golf team, was part of the marching and pep bands, was in the musicals and was on the technical crews for plays. He also was part of the Boomerang Program, the STEM Program, the High Mileage Program and the Holy Family Parish Youth Group and Lifeteen. Kollin had a contagious smile, was full of energy, had a willingness to help anyone, had such a forgiving heart and truly was an "old soul." He will be remembered most for his genuine love of life and laughter, his big bear hugs, and his constant drumming on anything and everything he could get his hands on.

Kollin is survived by his parents, Brad and Kelly; his sister, Mykael; his foreign exchange sister, Beatrice Berretta; grandparents, Don and Ruth Komis and Don and Marilyn Heimke; proud godmother and aunt, Suzanne (Todd) Meerdink; aunts and uncles, Missy (Kent) Klein, Michele Einerson, Dale Einerson, and Wade (special girlfriend Toni Kohls); cousins, Griffin and Sawyer Klein, Justin, Logan, Kasey, Keegan, Peyton, and Bryson Einerson; his special "man cave" friends, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral Mass will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, January 21, 2013 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Timothy Brandt.

Friends may call at the church on Monday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated for the two things that changed Kollins' life and had an impact on many others. A scholarship is being set up in his name for Life Teen Summer Camps and Holy Family Youth Group Camps. The memorial fund will be at Best Advantage Credit Union, 125 Jackson Street in Brillion, WI 54110. It would have been Kollin's wish that every teenager have the opportunity to experience and understand their faith in the same way he did.
