We've learned new details about the 15-month-old found dead in North Carolina. Investigators believe a Jay County man killed his son and left his body on the side of a road. On Thursday, NewsChannel 15 got in contact with the toddler's family.
The grandmother never answered but the mother, Amy Theurer, answered and hung up after the reporter identified herself.
According to Theurer's Facebook page, which is public, she moved back home to Portland in May. Amy had been living in North Carolina with her husband, Matthew Theurer, and their young son Matthew.
Investigators said the 21-year-old father faces three charges: voluntary manslaughter, negligent homicide, and murder.
Theurer is in the Air Force and based in North Carolina.
The spokesperson for the family says someone from the Air Force will question Amy in connection to the case involving the death of her son.
