Nathan Paul Hudgins, 17, of Paris died Friday, June 10, 2011, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville from an accidental gunshot wound.

His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at McEvoy Funeral Home.

David French of Freedom Fellowship Church, where Hudgins attended, will officiate. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Named as pallbearers are J.T. Hudgins, Brett Dowdy, Will Watkins, Daniel Wilson, Henry Sippin, Trent Spears, Grant Lambert and Jeremy McCord.

Josh Bush will be an honorary pallbearer.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Born Aug. 28, 1993, in Paris, he was a son of Betty Lefler Bishop of McKenzie and Jamie Paul Hudgins of Paris. He was a stepson of Brian Bishop of McKenzie and Janet Hudgins of Paris.

Hudgins was 2011 Henry County High School graduate. He was active in mixed martial arts and, according to a family member, enjoyed hunting, fishing and four-wheeling.

He also leaves a sister: Melissa Allen of Paris; three brothers: J.T. Hudgins and John Allen, both of Paris, and Michael Allen of Houston; two grandparents: Jim and Charlotte Hudgins of Paris;

Three great-grandparents: Bailey and Mary Nell Wimberley of Buchanan and Mary Evadean Hudgins of Paris; one niece: Lyndsi Allen of Paris; two aunts: Jill Dowdy of Pearl, Miss., and Priscilla Taylor of Erin; one uncle: Jonathan Hudgins of Paris; and a special friend, Brachel Stevenson.

He was preceded in death by two grandparents: Roy and Bernice Lefler.
