Family and friends gathered Monday night to remember a 19-year-old woman who police say was shot and killed by her ex-boyfriend.
Police are calling it a case of domestic violence.
According to investigators, Crejonnia Bell also know as CJ was shot and killed by her ex-boyfriend.
Family members say the couple dater for six months before the horrific crime.
The suspect is no strange to police. He claims to be a gang member.
Tonight the victim's mother has a message for women of all ages in violent relationships.
"No is no when you leave them alone leave them a lone do not ever go back to them I don't care how much they say they're sorry don't go back because you're going to be just like her this is my baby I have to bury my child I have to bury her scrape up money to bury my baby because her boyfriend couldn't say no," said the victim's mother Markeda Holcomb-Brownlee.
She held up a picture of her daughter Crejonnia Bell also know as CJ.
The start high school graduate was shot and killed last night.
It happened in front of this house on Weber street.
The victim's mother says CJ broke up with her ex-boyfriend Traquawn Gibson and he wanted to see her.
"She said let me go over there and see if he'll quit calling me and that's the wrong thing she did was go over there to see what she wanted," said the victim's mother.
Investigators say Gibson argued with the victim, shot her, she tried to run to the porch and he fired again.
According to a police report CJ was found in the living room.
The coroner says the 19-year-old died of four gunshot wounds to the head and chest.
Her mother says CJ was studying criminal justice and wanted to be a lawyer.
"She was a designer she was in college my baby was in school she worked two jobs she didn't deserve to go out like this at the hands of a man," said Bell's mother.
Police say 19-year-old Traquawn Gibson was shot in the leg.
After reviewing evidence and questioning Gibson detectives arrest him for the murder of CJ bell.
A young woman he only dated for six months.
"God is good because the person who did it is in jail I will not rest sir until you are convicted of this," said the victim's mother.
The family doesn't have the money to bury their loved one.
They've set up a memorial fund at Fifth Third Bank under Crejonnia T. Bell.
