The Honolulu medical examiner has released the name of the teenager killed in a pickup crash and fire on Farrington Highway near Makua Cave.

The medical examiner says 16-year-old Zain Lalawai of Waianae died. No cause of death was released.

Police say seven people were riding in the cab and five in the bed when the pickup crashed June 15.

A 16-year-old boy and girls age 13, 14 and 15 were seriously injured.

Witnesses told police the northbound truck was weaving and speeding before it hit a concrete piling and burst into flames.

Lalawai's body was found on the ground outside the truck cab.

The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports the 18-year--old driver, Kamealohanakekaiau Wilbur-Delima, contacted police nearly 12 hours after the crash. He's charged with negligent homicide and accidental death.
