Baton Rouge Police now confirm the man found shot to death in a vehicle on I-110 is 24-year-old Silas Gibbs. Gibbs was a former running back for Clinton High School and Southern University.

Just before 3:00 a.m. Saturday morning police responded to reports of a stalled vehicle just north of the Chippewa Street exit on I-110. When officers arrived and approached the vehicle they found there was no one in the drivers seat, but did find Gibbs in the passenger seat. He had been shot and was deceased.

Authorities say that Walter Jerome Fort, 22, is wanted for Second Degree Murder and Illegal Use of a Weapon. Fort is accused of shooting and killing Gibbs as they rode in a vehicle.

There is no known motive for the shooting at this time.
