Football, working out, polishing his custom made car, making sure his dreads and threads were always at their best...This was Marchas Lamar Glover, affectionately known as Chas. This gift of life (Chas) was given on June 29, 1987 to Mr. and Mrs. Robert (Sherry) Glover. God called home this mannerable, kind-spirited, giving, servant July 30, 2011. As a boy, you would always find Chas, his brother and his father on the front row of the sanctuary at Moses Chapel Primitive Baptist Church. It was there, he confessed his hope in Christ at the tender age of 11, under the pastorate of Elder Leroy Laughinghouse. Chas later moved to Big Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church as a teenager, where he sang in the Youth Choir, participated in the Youth Department and served on the Youth Usher Board. Whether it was cutting a church member's grass on the weekend or helping clean the church, Chas had a willingness to serve in whatever capacity his services were needed.

Chas attended East Limestone High School where he played basketball and football. As the running back and linebacker Chas, lead his team all the way to the state play-offs. He graduated from East Limestone in 2006 and headed to Troy University to become a Trojan with his older brother. Marchas was a lover of life and people. His bright personality shined through his humorous jokes and joyous spirit. He never embraced the spirit of fear, well...except when it came to heights.

Chas was currently working in Kandahar, Afghanistan as a Team Leader, Logistics Management Specialist with the U.S. Government. He leaves his cherished memories to his parents, Robert and Sherry Glover, Madison, Alabama. He leaves behind a sister, Shameka Fletcher, Athens, Alabama; two brothers: Chauncy Glover, of Jacksonville, Florida and Fredrick Fletcher (Katrina) of St. Louis, Missouri; three nieces: Mevaeh, Dasha and Malia. Chas spent special moments with his three uncles: Charlie, Tommy and Bill. He cherished his time with eight special aunts, Mary, Juanita, Vickie, Henrietta, Shelly, Deloise, Lillian and Patricia.

Chas also shared countless memories with a host of cousins, coworkers, friends and peers. He was a ready man, ready for any endeavor or task...Even when it came to the ultimate challenge of journeying from this life into heavenly rest. He was ready. This was Marchas Lamar Glover.

Funeral service will be 12:00 Noon on Friday, August 5, 2011, at the Saint Bartley Primitive Baptist Church (3020 Belafonte Avenue; Huntsville, AL 35816) with Reverend Leroy Laughinghouse officiating. Interment will be in the Madison Memory Gardens. Mr. Glover will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.
