Four people are dead and two are hospitalized with serious injuries after a head-on collision in Morgan County Friday night.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident happened on U.S. Highwy 50, just east of Highway 135 at 8:30 when an eastbound Chevrolet Malibu driven by 22-year-old Kelsey Toebben of Jefferson City tried to pass a tractor-trailer. Her car collided head-on with a Volvo S60 driven by 42 year-old Philip Allen of Rolla.

Toebben and Allen were both pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in Allen's car, 44-year-old Carin Allen, also died at the scene.

Toebben's passenger, 25-year-old Justin Gaddis of Knob Noster, was taken to University Hospital in Columbia, where he later died.

Two other passengers in Allen's car, 12-year-old Corinna Allen, who was taken to Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, and 14-year-old Patrick Allen, who was taken to University Hospital, both sustained serious injuries.
