Kenneth Stancil said in a Florida jailhouse interview that he killed a community college employee because he made online sexual advances to his younger brother.

The 20-year-old Wayne County man is now back in North Carolina to face a murder charge that he gunned down Ron Lane Monday morning in the print shop at Wayne Community College.

He was brought into a Wayne County courtroom under tight security for a first appearance before Superior Judge Arnold Jones..

While still in Florida, a reporter asked Stancil over the phone why he killed Lane. "The man's a child molester, man. He preys on kids, man. And one of the kids he was trying to mess with was my 16-year-old brother," said Stancil.

The murder suspect says Lane never actually touched his brother, but made the advances to him on Facebook. The former college student calls himself a neo-Nazi and said Lane deserved to die because he was gay.

"I don't take remorse for nothing. I did what I did and I got to live with it, you know? If I get life, just get life. You know, I'm a (expletive) murderer. You know what the (expletive) do I got to care," said Stancil.

A Lane family spokesman refutes the allegations that the murder victim molested children. Despite those accusations, Steve Smith, Lane's cousin, says the the family forgives Stancil for the murder.

Stancil is now an inmate at the Wayne County jail and has a first appearance at 4:30 p.m.
