Ashley was born April 24, 1988 in Carnegie Oklahoma to Daryl and Linda Chester Baker. She went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 22, 2014 at the age of 26. In Heaven, she was awaited by her first little son, Chase Gene Poor and her grandfather, Bill Baker.

While pregnant with her third child, Ashley was diagnosed with a lethal melanoma. She chose not to pursue chemotherapy until after her son was born, to avoid harming her child.
Friends and family members rallied to raise funds for Ashley to seek treatment at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Texas as soon as the baby arrived, with a "Share Some Love For Ashley," campaign; however the cancer was too far advanced for her to survive.
Ashley loved taking care of her babies and always kept a neat house and was "hard on cars". She told a television reporter that "I know I am blessed with what I have, even though it is not going to be much longer."
