Matthew Kelly, of Marshfield, passed away suddenly on June 1, 2016. He was the beloved son of Maureen Renie (Flannery) Kelly Godding, and her husband Jim Chipa of Marshfield and J. Lawrence of Weymouth. Dear brother of Thomas Kelly of Providence, RI, and Bridget Kelly of Marshfield. Grandson of Alfred and the late Lorriane Flannery of South Boston, and the late John and Rita Kelly. Matt was the loving uncle of Olivia Kelly and leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins, and hundreds of friends. Matt was a member of Local 103 Murphy Electric. Matt, aka Pretty Girl Kelly", Pirelli, and Matty, was one of the nicest, most genuine people his town has had the pleasure of knowing. Matt lived for sports and the beach, but mainly for his friends and family. In particular, his niece Olivia, who nicknamed him Aunty Matt and made him feel like an invincible superhero. He could light up a room with his contagious smile, bright blue eyes, and mane of hair. Everyone who had the pleasure of being a part of his life knew that his selflessness and empathy had no bounds. Matt will be cherished and remembered for the joy he brought to everyone he encountered. Visiting hours will be held Monday, June 6, 2016, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street (Rte. 139), Marshfield. Family and friends will gather to remember Matt at Rexhame Beach Tuesday, June 7, 2016. For those wishing to meet at sunrise at 5 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2016, please join his family for some quiet time and reflection. Coffee and donuts will be provided. A service will begin on the beach at 8 a.m. at the first entrance to the Rexhame Town Beach. Pastor Mark Hubert will officiate. Beach attire is suggested. Cory Edgardo Whidden, age 19 of Marshfield, died Saturday, June 2, 2012. He was born on November 29, 1992 in Bogota, Columbia and came home to Marshfield in the spring of 1993. Cory was the beloved son of Roger W. Whidden Jr. of Marshfield and Mary Judge Whidden, also of Marshfield. Brother to Jocelyn and Jian Whidden of Marshfield, grandson of Shirley Whidden of Dedham, the late Roger W. Whidden Sr. and the late Charles A. Judge and Ella Mae Judge. Cory is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Cory was a lifelong athlete. He enjoyed karate, soccer and snowboarding. He was a gifted artist, aspiring furniture maker and carpenter.
