Dakota James Mitchell age 20, a resident at D & E College, Elkins WV was in his usual health, he departed his life Friday afternoon June 24, 2016 in the Davis Medical Center in Elkins WV

He was born August 11, 1995 at Elkins, a son of Steve and Paula Mitchell who reside on the Proudfoot Farm out of Belington, WV.

He is survived by one brother; Grayson Mitchell at home One sister; Beth Skinner, husband Nick. A niece; Rosa Skinner of Clarksburg, WV. , He is survived by his grandmother Rose Proudfoot Sikora Talbott Community of Belington, Grandfather James Spear, wife Kim of Stonewood, WV. He is survived by his Uncles; James Mitchell, Jesse Spear, Tyler Spear, wife Jennifer. He is also survived by his Uncle Donald & Aunt Ruby Ware. He is survived by special cousins; Rochelle Mitchell, Gina Wolfe, husband Jason, Clifton Ware, wife Tessa, Joshua, Brooklyn, Logan and Isaiah Watson, Genna Mitchell, Gracie and Holden Wolfe, Bricen and Kinley Ware. Special Friends are Shaffer, Daniel, Max, Frogger, Nikki, Jon, Josh, Emily, Amber, Jessica and Jacob. Special friends & faculty at D & E College who meant so much to Dakota. So many other family and friends not listed.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Sharon Mitchell, his great grandparents Herman and Jessie Proudfoot, James and Thelma Spear who he loved very much.

Dakota attended school in Barbour County, was a graduate of Philip Barbour High School in 2014. He was entering his Junior year at D & E College in Elkins. He was employed at D & E College in the Computer Dept. for the summer. He was an Upward Bound Scholar, also a member of the Political Science Club and Anime Club. Dakota loved his family, especially the time spent on his family farm with his Rosie (Grandmother) and all of his family. He loved spending time with his friends gaming, playing board games, watching Anime movies and staying up late with them.
He was known for his knowledge and his sharing of random facts under the sun at any given moment. He was also known for his lengthy conversations with family and friends that lasted through the night about Philosophy, Politics, Religion and much more.

There will be a memorial on July 10, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the D & E College Chapel. Please join us in celebrating his life. In lieu of flowers you may donate to the family for funeral expenses or to D& E College Upward Bound, 100 Campus Drive 26241 in memory of Dakota.
